Sneak peek: a look at EMMIR's incoming Edition 12 Erasmus Mundus students

We at EMMIR are very excited to announce that we have now offered study placements to 38 outstanding students from around the globe for the 12th edition of our Master's programme, marking the beginning of another enriching academic year.

After a months-long process of reviewing hundreds of thought-provoking applications from around the world, we are now able to share preliminary information about our incoming students. The selection process was competitive, and we are grateful to all applicants for their enthusiasm and dedication.

Congratulations the 38 students we have offered study placements to, including 11 from Latin America, 5 from Europe, 14 from Asia, 7 from Africa, and 1 from North America. Among these, 21 are Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients, 2 are fee-paying placements, and 15 are non-fee-paying placements. Additionally, 25 out of the 38 incoming students are women.

Please note these initial numbers might shift as we finalize enrollments and consider additional self-funded applications before the upcoming deadline.

We look forward to welcoming Edition 12 in Oldenburg this autumn, and also to the contributions these students will make to our community, as well as the broader academic and professional world!

This year, 2,603 scholarships have been distributed worldwide across 137 countries. The scholarships, which are part of the Erasmus+ programme running from 2021-2027, play a vital role in enriching lives and opening minds by supporting academic excellence and fostering cross-cultural exchange.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) programmes are a flagship initiative of the European Union aimed at enhancing quality in higher education through scholarships and academic cooperation between the EU and the rest of the world. These scholarships are awarded to the best student candidates applying under annual selection rounds. Recipients of these scholarships benefit from the opportunity to study in multiple countries, gaining diverse perspectives and a high-quality education.

EMMIR is proud that our Master's programme has also been a European Commission-funded programme since 2016, providing Erasmus Mundus scholarships to over 100 students over the years.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on another exciting academic year filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and international collaboration.
